Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I have been attending College and graduated in June. At the time I was be paid by the Veterans Administration. I do not have an income. My husband draws 27,936 per year from the Veterans Administation for being a service connected disabled veteran. He draws 8,736 from Social Security. We own a house with a mortgage and two vehicles. We have agreed on the separation of the vehicles and the furniture. I want to know if you can do your own divorce papers when you have property to be divided. I cannot afford a lawyer, but the situation is getting worse. He has began drinking again and is very verbally abusive, not physical. He has pulled a gun on me and he has threaten to kill me. I want out.

If you're agreeable about things, spend the few hundred dollars it will cost to get it drawn up properly. The odds of doing it right on your own are very low.
