If you were not married to the father at the time of the birth of the child and if the father has not gone to court to "legitimize", the father has NO PARENTAL RIGHTS AT ALL to the child. None. Zero. If this man has your child, you may consider taking the following steps:

1.) Call the police and tell them that you want your child back, but the biological father, who has no rights to child, will not let you take possession of the child.

2.) Go to Court and obtain a restraining order against the father, so that the father will have to keep a certain distance away from you and the child.

3.) If the father follows you to Texas, you may have to repeat the same process there.

As always, I STRONGLY recommend hiring a family law lawyer to represent you.

Phil is absolutely right - call police and have him arrested for kidnapping if not legitimated

Once he is behind bars, move to another state (do not go to Midland, TX as he knows where you want to go there and he'll follow you there trying to get the baby again OR WORSE)

At least get a TRO against him ASAP (it's free in GA and the clerk of the Superior Court can help you)

Best of luck.*******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege and you must hire your own attorney for legal advice on any matter.*******
