How do I begin the process of divorce? What is a "legal separation?"

Georgia does not have "legal separation" (although we have something slightly similar called separate maintenance).

The most important first step in a divorce is to get a lawyer. Usually cases without counsel go awry, and hiring a lawyer is typically the thiung you can do to most help your case.
