Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

break-up before child birth

I was involved in a relationship with a woman who has become pregnant, and I would like to protect my rights as father to this child. As well, I am unaware of the rights I have as father to my child.

Georgia has a putative father registry where you can register your paternity, insuring notice if she tried to give up the child for adoption.

One good solution may be to see a lawyer to draw up paperwork to be filed with a court to legitimize the child. If you're in metro Atlanta, we could assist with that.
