You have to petition the courts for a name change. The process is fairly simple and can be done many times without the assistance of counsel. There are packets that assist in name changes located at the Family Law Resource Center at the Fulton County Superior Courthouse. However, I advise that you seek the advice of an attorney if you don't understand the packet.
