name change different states

Hi I would like to change my son's name(last) and we can not locate him..Last know address was in California. I would like to put a publicaion in the newspaper(CA). Which newspaper do I use? A major one which cos $470 for 4 weeks once wkly. Or can I use a smaller one? We now reside in Ga..

If you're in Georgia, nothing is run in California. The Court fees and publication fees will vary by county. Publication costs wil be eithere $40 or $80, and filing fees are about $80. The proper paper is different for each court. Depending on the county, the legal fee we charge can be as low as $250. In some counties, with counsel, a court appearance may be unneeded.
