Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Changing your mind about a adoption

I ex wife told me that she wanted to give up her rigths and have my current wife adopt our child. My ex and i went to the attorneys office and singed all the proper paperwork. The 10 day window passed and she did not change her mind about the adoption. But when we got in the judges chambers 72 day's later she said that she did not want to give up her rigths. She also said that i forced her into signing the adoption papers. The judge did not grant the adoption. My question is how can the judge allow her to change her mind after the legal time limits has passed. Are there any federal law's that might apply here. Please give me your thoughts, and comments or were ( groups) that might be able to help.

Re: Changing your mind about a adoption

I am sure that there are adoption groups available, but I can't think of any at this time.

I would demand that the attorney show you chapter and verse of the GA code how the judge can do this. Not being familiar with all the facts of your case, this is the best I can offer.
