Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

can i have character witnesses during the divorce proceeding?

Not knowing what to expect when I show up for court, I'm wondering if I will be able to submit affidavits to the court or have witnesses present for the purpose of testifying to my husband's character. I have only one police report, but his family and several of my acquaintences have seen first-hand his violent nature and destructiveness. I'm hoping that this will help the judge understand why I have requested that my husband seek anger management and parenting classes before he can get unsupervised visitation with our daughter.

Generally, you may bring witnesses and/or affidavits, but it depends on the type of proceeding and sometimes on the judge.
