Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Child Abandonment Hearing Please Help

I live in the state of Georgia and my ex-girlfriend has filed for child abandonment. I am behind on child support payments, but only because she tricked me and said that she took me off CS because she wanted the child live with me and that she could not handle him. I took him and enrolled him in school and provided all his needs for a lengthy time period. My question is if i go to court and show evidence like school records and statements from teachers (because i was involved with his school) will that help me at all? Also can I subpoena her to bring him to testify on my behalf? Lastly she is an unfit parent and I want to prove it to the judge. He is only 10 and she leaves him home by his self. Can I subpoena her to bring my son's attendence records and letters from DFACS that shows she was investigated because she physically abused my son? He has also been held back in school because of his attendence and was diagnosed with ADD and she has stopped his medication. I am afraid for my son and I feel the laws only protect her, whether she does right by my son or not.

It sounds like you may have a very good case. However, a lot is at stake here for you to try to undertake all the legal steps by yourself. Consult with a local attorney.
