What is the age of a child when a judge considers the childs wants in a child custody case?

Expect some changes in this come January, but the current answer is 14. At that age a child has a right to express a preference, although in some cases a judge may choose not to follow it. Some judges now listen to younger children, but not all do. Come January, we'll see some changes that affect this answer.
