How old does a child in Georgia have to be to decide which parent they wish to stay with.

(At 14 they can express an opinion that a judge will usually follow, but there are situations where a judge may not okay the child's wishes.)

At age 14, a child can express his/her preference but it is not binding on the judge if the judge feels the child's choice is not in his/her best interest. Consult with a local attorney.
