Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Child Custody

I am involved in a custody modification with my former spouse. I have filed the petition and am having trouble with the child support worksheet. I have to file this before they will hear my petition again. Since filing the petition, my former spouse has been charged with child neglect by DFACS and my daughter was briefly sent to live with me. She hase since returned to her mother's residence and I have to continue on withthis struggle to gain full custody. If there is any legal advice on the proper way to fill out the child support worksheet you could offer me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: Child Custody

Especially with the new child support law, but also for other reasons, a person needs a lawyer in custiody cases. You will almost certainly make many mistakes if you cannot do the basic part, which is a spreadsheet. Different judges complicate it, as they want different things from the same form. Without the experience of a good lawyer, you are unfortunately going to remain at a huge disadvantage. Get a lawyer.
