Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

child custody

my mother i law was granted temporary legal custody of my children of both of my children in 2004 for a period of two years, thus expiring in 2006. i served her with a petition for habeus corpus, stating that the order was no longer in affect and no longer binding by law. She no longer had any legal holds over my children. And iprayed upont he court to relieve her of such rights to keep them, and to return the children to me. In rerturn, she has filed for custody herself, and we have a court date in Feb. 2008. She is also requesting child support from me at this time, when she hadn't done so before. I feel like shes just doing this in retaliation of me filing for custody myself. She has also obtained a well-known lawyer in my community, and i can't afford one myself. Is their any advice anyone can give me? Does anyone know how I can obtain a lawyer that either works on a payment plan, or works on a sliding scale? Or any organizations that can help me? I am desperate? I need someones help badly! Thank you.
