Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Child Custody & Visitation

I currently have joint custody of my 2 children with no visitation. What exactly does this mean? The father is the primary physical custodian parent. He is also a convicted felon and I have no kind of record at all with the law. I obtained full custody at the divorce hearing. At the time the judge awarded joint custody a year ago, he owed $12,000.00 back child support. This case went before a superior court judge. Whatever happened to Juvenile Court Judges? I never received a dime, the judge forfeited the child support and let my kids go with him and I am now not able to have any contact with them whatsoever. Please help me. I need some legal advice as to where to turn for help. Thank You Very Much!

Re: Child Custody & Visitation

You will need to petition the Superior Court in your county for custody and/or visitation. If you are awarded custody, you may also ask for child support. I can help you with this. Call or e-mail me so that we can discuss the specific details of your case.

It seems that there is a lot more going on in this matter. It is my understaning that custody was taken away from you at a hearing to collect child support arrears. Please contact my office so that we can discuss this matter in detail and seek getting your kids back.

I think the fact situation surrounding your case is probably far too complicated to give you a reliable answer in this type of forum. I would suggest that you contact a competent family law attorney in your area because I am betting that you are going to need to engage in an extensive "Q & A" session. Also, it is vital that all the documents, court orders, etc. be personally looked at by an attorney.
