Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

child custody/contempt

My x husband has not given me child support or provide insurance for our 2 kids. I have custody of them but could not afford all bills with no help from him. So I let him take the kids. No papers or anything were filed. Now that I am going to move out of state he is trying to take full custody of the kids. I am ready to get the kids back, but he has got to help provide for the kids and I am also in contempt because I am living with a man and we are not married. Please Help

Re: child custody/contempt

If the children are living with him, hopefully you paid him child support. And, if you're living with a man you're not married to, you've made a decision that you don't want custody, as judges tend to not like that at all. You need to do two things: (1) hire a lawyer and (2) decide if living with the man is mroe important to you than your children, as you likely have to choose (or at least be married - discuss this with your lawyer).
