Re: Child Motification for 14yr old?

In Georgia, once a child reaches the age of 14, they can choose which parent they want to live with. The court will grant a change of custody absent a showing of unfitness. You will need an attorney to get you through this properly. A motion for change of custody will need to be filed with an affidavit from the child attached, and a court date will need to be set up. You can probably get the whole thing over with in 3 to 6 months. The initial court and attorney costs are yours, but if it is unreasonably contested you may be able to recover them. Call me if you would like help.
