Child support & Joint Physical Custody

My ex and I have agreed to a modification of custody that we are doing ourselves through a mediator. Currently, she has sole physical custody, and I have visitation. We share joint legal custody. The modification would give us both joint legal and joint physical custody. I would be the ''primary parent,'' and our daughter would attend school while she is with me. My salary is double what my ex brings in, under joint physical custody, even with our daughter spending the greater percentage of time with me, would I still owe child support to my ex? Or can my ex and I come up with our own child support amount if any? Thanks.

Ultimately it depends on what a Judge approves. You can't change custody without a court case.

In general, if a good lawyer is representing you, it is possible to have great flexibility as to support in situations like yours.

Everything about this is negotiable at this point. You should consult with a local attorney. If you and your ex come to an agreement about these issues, it needs to be properly presented to the court, usually in the form of a Consent Judgment, following a Petition to Modify.
