Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Child Support

I have two kids by a man that is married. He pays my rent, and utilities bills. My problem is I want to end this situation with him. Often time I tell that to pay me my child support, so that I can move on. What are my legal rights as a mother? What steps do I take, to make him pay child support? Since he gets disability every month, would I still be able to get child support? One small thing all of his assets are in some one else name, how can I still get what I need for my kids and move on with my life?

Re: Child Support

Even though his assets are in another person's name, you are entitled to support and a portion of his disabillity should go to support his children. His disability plan may also have a provision for support of minor children. Your children may also be entited to Social Security Benefits. The first step is to establish parentage and obtain an order which indicates that he is the father of the children. Please contact me if I can assist you to obtain the money that you need for your children.

Re: Child Support

You are entitled to a portion of his disabillity income to support the children. There are also ways to determine his hidden income an assets. Please contact my office for further consultation on the matter.
