Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Child support modification in Georgia.

I have to modify my child support, what are the steps needed in Georgia? My income has gone down substantially. Also, can this be done easily without a lawyer, or are we going to have to go back to court like we are getting a divorce all over again. One more item, do you know how long this typically takes?

Re: Child support modification in Georgia.

If you want to lose, represent yourself. A mere reduction in income alone is not going to win a case, so see a lawyer and find out what actually needs to be done. How long a case takes and the cost depend mostly on whether the parties agree, but also on the county and even the assigned judge.
