child support

I moved to N.C., was back in paying my child support in Douglasville, Ga. and now moved back to Atlanta and my ex wife had me arrested, now going to court in 9/17/06, in arrears 18,000, remarrried w/3 kids, gave ex-wife and two kids the house and car, ex-wife sold house got money, i got nothing can i use that in court for arrears will it hold up in court or will i be laughed out of court and sent to jail, I have been paying what i could, the kids come stay with us all the time even when I was in NC, I can't keep up what can I do. Please I do not know what else to do I definitely don't have 18,000 to give

It MAY be that your giving her the house and the car shows substantial compliance with the divorce decree, but I can't give you a definite answer without reviewing the decree and discussing all the facts and time-line with you. Consult with a local attorney.
