When the noncustodial parent is employed by his parents, what can one do when the amount of income is dramatically decreased and additional expenses are taken out of income specifically to decrease the amount of child support liability? (can be verified easily by past tax forms and 10 years of pay stubs

He/she can file a petition for modification in the county of the residence of the custodial parent. He/she should contact an attorney in that county.

Working for the family business is almost like being self-employed. It gives the NCP the potential ability to control his income.

That is one reason why child support is based on the ability to earn, rather than "actual" earnings.

The perks and other indirect payments can be charged back as imputed income to the NCP.

This will require a hearing or a very intense negotiation.
