Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Child support is being paid in the amount of [x] dollars which is specified in the "Child Support Addendum" under the "Child Support Amount" clause. The clause states a beginning date to start child support and states it to be paid "per month". Under the "Duration of Child Support" a subsection extends the child support beyond the age of 18 until the child graduates from a secondary school or reaches 23 yrs. old. However, in the Settlement Agreement, there is a paragraph under "Child Custody, Visitation, College Expenses", the states, "Starting Aug. 1, 2010, Husband shall be responsible for providing Wife with the following amounts to be used for [childs name] living expenses in the amount of [y] dollars (different dollar amount than what is in the Child Support Amount clause).
Question 1: If the child turns 18 in the month of August which amount is due [x] or [y]?
Question 2: If [x] amount is due, is the total amount due since the child turns 18 in early August?

Talk to your lawyer, who likely committed malpractice. Since those documents are prepared and submitted by one or both sides, you'll need your lawyer to go back into court and fix this.
