can paying your children's car insurance be a form of child support payment, even if the divorce papers request a weekly payment?

Even if you are paying the insurance, you must also pay whatever is in the decree. However, you can petition the court to modify the decree so as to give you credit for the insurance. Consult with a local attorney.
