Can a person paying child support claim the support on his taxes?

No, but there are ways that the payor might be able to claim an exemption on his or her taxes but it has to be done by legal agreement. Please consult an attorney for more info.

yes if it part of separation agreement or child lives with them 50.1 percent of time
