Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Child Support
I have a ten yr old son whos father and I were married until he was two. Approx 6 mos after the divorce (I was awarded primary physical custody and child support), his father abandoned him (no visits, calls or financial support). If I pursue locating him to recover back child support, will I be obligated to allow him visitation? (He has not pursued me, Im considering pursuing him)

Re: Child Support
The obligation to pay child support is independent of the right to visit the child. Even if he were local, you cannot withhold visitation even if he is behind in child support. Your remedy is to seek have him held in contempt for not obeying the court order. Consult with a local attorney.
