Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

child support

I have a woman who is suing me for the first time for child support. The minor in question is 17 years old. I have never been given the opportunity to be a parent and don't even know if this child is mine. We were never married. Can she now get child support?

Re: child support

Sure, if it's your child. Get a lawyer, and be sure that a DNA test is done.

Glen:

Yes, she can petition for child support. You/she may also petition the court for a DNA test to prove that the child either is or is not yours. If the child is yours, then you can/will be ordered to pay support until the child reaches the age of 18 and or had completed secondary school. Call or email me for further details, I would be happy to give you your options.
