ok my ex-girlfriend came to georgia went to the police station had a detective come and take my kids and flew back to her home state--the children have been living with me for 8 months my oldest child during his course of staying with me i found out through sylvin learning center is a year a nd a half behind in his reading and math under her supervision--im am more financially stable to take care of our kids what should i do? i nor does she have custody papers but the mother has all the rights in georgia please help me

Amongst unmarried couples, a mother has full custody until and unless a court determines otherwise. Any custody action would generally be filed in the county of the children's legal residence, which would generally be considered to be the mother's address.
