Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Children and Prisons

My ex-wife has joint physical custody, and I have visitation. We share joint legal custody. I found out this weekend that my ex-wife had taken our daughter to see her finace' who is in a correctional institution in south Georgia. My ex-wife is getting married in a couple of weeks. So, my ex-wife wants to take our daughter to see her future stepdad, so that they can get to know each other better. My ex-wife's fiance' won't be getting out of jail for another couple of years, so that means our daughter is going to be going to see him at least twice a month. I told my ex-wife I did not want our daughter going to a correctional institution. She told me it was none of my business, and that there was nothing I could do to stop her. Is this true? Do I have any options?

Thanks.

Re: Children and Prisons

You should consult with a local attorney about filing a modification of your decree. It may well be that a local judge might agree with you that your child should not be forced into such an environment.
