Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My child's father hasn't paid child support in years and has no contact with her. Can I have his parental rights removed by placing an ad in the newspaper contesting his rights? I was told you could run the ad consecutively for 30 days, and if he doesn't respond, his legal rights can be removed. Is this true?

No.

There is no such thing as terminating parental rights by running an ad.

What you should be doing is seeking support through the state or an attorney. That is your duty to the child.

No. What you can (and should) is try to collect the back child support, possibly by hauling him to court for contempt. Consult with a local attorney.
