Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
A close friend of mine died very recently. She made it very clear that if she were to die she would want me to have custody of her two children. She put it in her will as their leagal gaurdian.
Now the kids' grandmother wants to take me to court because she believes she should raise them. Can she do that? Is it possible she may get custody? Do I need a lawyer for this?
This last question is a little off topic but if I'm their leagal gaurdian do I still need to adopt them or are they adopted automatically?

Yes you MUST get a lawyer. A person can recommend guardians in a will. If there is a dispute, a court must resolve it.
Adoption generally is not what would happen. See a lawyer ASAP.
