Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I am confused by the reported changes in custody law regarding the ability of a 14 year old to select a parent in 2008. The law document does not seem to reflect this. Can a 14 year old select which parent to with in GA?

No. The child can express a preference. The judge must consider it, and, IF he finds it is in the child's interest, will follow it. However, if the judge disagrees as to the child's interest, then it won't be followed.

There is no "law document" about this, so I have no idea what you are referencing.
