constant battle

I have 2 children ages 6&7.I have been divorced for 5 yrs. My x did not pay support or wanted to see the children althou both were ordered by court,untilhe remarried 2 yrs ago.he and his wife were constsntly threating me about taking my kids,telling my kids not to listen to me. Its more than this but my ? is.. Imade a terrible mistake 3days ago & sign a paper to give them temp custody.this did not go before a judge yet, want can i do they have had my children for 2wks. i need help fast. money is short and they know i can't hire a lawer. please help with answer..

A change of custody is not effective unless made the order of the court. Therefore, you are still the legal custodian of the children, and can enforce your rights in court. You should see an attorney to help you accomplish regaining custody quickly.
