contempt charges

When a former spouse is in contemp of court for not allowing non-custodial parent visitation, do you have to have a lawyer to file charges????

This is America, land of the free and home of the brave. You have the right to represent yourself. You also have the right to pull your own tooth but you have to decide if this is the thing to do.

A person is not in contempt unless a judge so finds. To be found in contempt, a judge must hear evidence and determine if there is (1) a violation, and (2) if it is wilful. If he finds both, then a person can be found in contempt.

It is very difficult to do such a case without a lawyer.
