Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Contempt orders

We have an order from the court awarding us damages from another who was found in contempt of court. She refuses to pay up. How can we go about garnishing her for nonpayment....we are talking a sum of nearly $13,000.

As i said, we already have a judgement, but don't know where to head from here.

Re: Contempt orders

If the order was from a GA court, you can simply file a garnishment against her employer. You can get the forms at any GA courthouse. Or, if you know where she banks, you can garnish her bank account. You would file this agains the bank.

In order to help you I would need to know all the facts because that's how you enforce a judgment or court order.I would suggest you send me an e-mail with your phone number and a good time to reach you at that #.
