Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I am the custodial parent for a child who will be going to visit his father in another state for a few days. I just found out that his father has moved to a different location in the same city but refuses to disclose his current address even though my son will be at that address. We were never married nor lived together and he was granted joint custody as well as visitation and child support. Can he legally refuse to furnish his address? Can I refuse allowing my son to go until he provides that information? My concern is the safety issue of not knowing where my son will be.

I would refuse to let him go without that information. It sounds like the father is just being spiteful. However, brace yourself that the father may file a contempt of court against you. I doubt a judge would do anything about it, but you never know. You might want to consider taking the offensive and petition the court to make him tell you son's whereabouts. If you would like to discuss, please feel free to give me a call.

Charles has told you to ignore a court order which could get you in severe trouble. You should not ignore a court order. Your remedy ius to go to court to have the judge deal with this (your court papers if done right may already require disclosure).
