Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Wants custody of child back.

My son's father and I were never married, he used an attorney on his job to draw up custody papers when I decided while I was in school to give him custody of our son. We never went before a judge the attorney just said all he needed was the judges signature and that was it. That was over 6 years ago. I want my son back with me what are my options. Our son is 12 years old and he has said he wants to be with me.

What state was this in? In georgia a child such as your would be illegitimate and there are two procedures the father would have to follow before he could be allowed to have custody. What was the agreement your signed? Do you have a copy? can you get one?
