Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

What is the cut off age for child support?

My daughter is now 18. Her biological father and I were not married. She was raised by my current husband. The Biological father was not in her life after age 2. I received no child support because i did not want him involved when she was younger, he threatened to kidnap her. Now that she is 18, she is wondering if she can go after him for child support. Or is this still something I must do?

thank you

If support was previously set by a court, what was set and not paid likely remains collectable. There's not a provision in Georgia to retroactively file for support once the child is grown if it was never set, so it would sound unlikely that it could be pursued absent an old support order.
