Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I am dating someone with a past of drug use and sale of drugs..He is also on probation but this ends in January. He has been clean for a year & also passes every drug test which is giving to him everyweek. I have joint custody of my daughter & my ex husband says he can get custody of her if I continue to date him. Is this true?
