Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
My daughter was born out of wedlock and I am now putting together paperwork to file for legitimation. I have been told in the past that one requirement for this is to include child support and custody arrangements in the filing. However, the mother and I are now happily married and are continuing to raise her together as we have since she was born. Given that we are legally married, am I still required to file financial and custodial arrangements with the court?

This is what happens when you do not know what you're doing. Marriage to the mother legitimates the child. So stop listening to your friends, and talk to a lawyer.

A subsequent marriage legitimates the child. Rest easy and enjoy your family.
