My daughter, Cherokee cty Ga, has been a faithful homemaker for 31 years but abused by her husband and turned to alcohol for the past 18 months ( a DUI) and had an affair for the past 3 months. Her husband filed for divorce. If contested is she likely to get alimony.

Adultery likely will prevent alimony. But with a 31 year marriage she will likely have various rights and she needs a lawyer.

Alimony is not likely, but in Georgia property is divided on an equitable basis. You should make her aware that "contesting" a divorce does not have to be expensive or quarrelsome.
