Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My daughter is four yrs old and i have never received child support nor have i ever filed for it. she has never had any contact with her birth father and she has my last name although the guy is on her birth certificate. He never tried to contact me in regards to her. I am in a new relationship now and was wondering when I get married, how can I go about changing her last name to match my new one and what it will cost. Is there also a way I can go about doing this without ever contacting the biological father due to his abusive past?

You may be able to do a name change, but it will require either the father's consent or service of process on the father. The cost will be far less if he consents.
