Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
My daughters' mother has filed a civil suit with our court to modify the child custody order and support order I got about a year ago. In it she states a lot of things, the most pertinent being that she is seeking custody to go to her and for me to pay child support to her. I have had sole custody of our daughter for a little over a year. Let me get to the point. I have a summons that states; "You are hereby summoned and required to file an answer to the complaint which is herewith served upon you."
I understand that I am supposed to file this with the court, however, I do not understand how to write said answer, in what form, or what exactly I should say. 23 year old single father without much knowledge of the legal system.

Is potentially losing custody of your daughter not worth hiring a lawyer?
If you don't care what happens and are willing to lose our daughter, research it and try to file your own answer and go to court. You'll likely lose the case.
While I can't promise you will "win" with a lawyer, you will have an assurance that proper procedures will be followed greatly improving the likelihood of a good result. It will be expensive, but frankly it's necessary.
Remember that the answer must be done quickly, and you should hire your lawyer at least 2-3 weeks before that deadline.
You are making a big mistake by even considering doing this yourself. Get an attorney.
