Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Dear Attorney,
My ex-husband has NOT taken my son to school for about four Fridays in a row....Every Friday is his visitation day with our son....and my ex has failed to take him to school....our son is in private Kindergarten at Mountain Park Methodist Church which I am paying expensive tuition for. I'm wondering what can be done about this or if he can get by with this....our son has missed too much school and in my opinion is confusing our son's routine. And at the same time....My ex-husband has just sent me a letter from his attorney demanding that I give him school papers/grades/reports etc accusing me that I have not given him school information. Our child does not receive report cards/grades or anything like that for me to be able to give to my ex. Any advice?

If you have an attorney, the attorney should write to his attorney and set forth his failure to take his son to school. It would be even better if you can get the school's records regarding your son's absences on Friday. Inform the ex that if he does not pick up and take his son to school as set forth in the custody order, you will seek court intervention regarding his failure to care about his son's education. Of course, you don't have to set forth this SUGGESTION word for word. In fact, because it appears your ex is playing games, you should retain an attorney in your county.
