Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Can I be denied visitation if I have a live in girlfriend/fiancee
I have a live in fiancee, I am in the process of going to court to first to legitimate and then ask for visitation. My childs mother hates my current live in girl friend and states she will never let me bring my daughter home because of this. How do the georgia courts view live-ins? At this point my childs mother does not know My fiancee and I live together although she suspects it we have been denying it. What should we do? How does the courts view this sort of thing. I am not fighting for custody at this time I am only asking for visitation and my child is an infant. What can we do to protect ourselves from denial visitation. We both work in the child care field and have plenty of experience with children.

The court determines issues of visitation and custody based on what's in the child's best interest. You are already aware that you are not entitled to visitation of a child born out of wedlock in Georgia, until legitimation is complete.
