Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
I disabled father of a 2 year old girl. I am going to have back surgery in late July early August. My wife of 7 years for me that I would be going to my mom's house for my recovery and she would check on me once a week. She don't work she has a degree in health care tech. The agreement was she take care of me and our daughter. I need a divorce and on my income can't afford one. My biggest concern is my daughter I started paying her a little more than I calculated child support would be. I need advice on how to file for custody. I have contacted my local legal ad they are not currently doing divorces. I live in hall county Georgia and would like any help.

It is absolutely dangerous to file a divorce case with children without a lawyer, and your timing is bad too. Such cases are stressful and require your constant attention and you should NOT start with surgery and recovery coming up - you will impair your recovery and not focus on your case (and your hearings and ADR may come up around the time for your surgery). Use the upcoming months to save your disability income towards a lawyer, and get your family to chip in, and when you recover, then start. Best of luck to you!
