The answer is yes. You can get a divorce is you know how, just like you can build a house if you know how. I don't want to sound flippant, but there are lots of issues to address, documents to draft, procedures to follow, some of which vary county by county. No matter who presents or prepares the divorce, the Judge must give final approval to the settlement. If you want to do it yourself, start by going to some web sites or to the library and getting some books to read about how to do it yourself. How to prepare, file, and present a divorce case cannot be explained in a few paragraphs. There are paralegals that can fill out the forms for you at a reduced price, but you will have to present your case to the Judge. If money is an issue, try calling Georgia Legal Services to see if they can help. Once its final you will have to live with the terms and conditions and if you gave up too much that could be a problem down the road.
