Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I want to get a divorce and I don't want my children to have contact with their father. I lived in the state of Michigan with him from 2004 (where we were married) and fled to Georgia in 2009 because of the first issue stated:

*He was [occasionally] physically and mentally [daily] abusive during our 6 year marriage. Regularly threatened to kill me, or hurt me, in front of the children. There are 2 (Oct. 2004 and Sept. 2009) incidents on file with the police department.

*He cheated on me with an 18 year old girl and had her move in with us, although I didn't know he was cheating on me at the time with her, and later got her pregnant.

*He had a CSC when I married him (when I was 19, I'm 26 now) and claimed that it was from a previous girlfriend. It wasn't until 2009 that I discovered that it was for molesting an 11 year old girl, only after learning that he had impregnated a 14 year old in 2006. I didn't find out until a court courier came and delivered adoption papers. He has been convicted of "attempted criminal sexual conduct of the second degree" after 2 deals with the prosecution office

*He has 2 violent crimes (1 assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder), and a slew of other felonies and misdemeanors.

I've also found a document in my possession (a P.P.O) of a woman claiming that she is married to him (in 2008, i married him in 2004). I contacted West Michigan Legal Aid Society and they couldn't find any records of divorce in the county the woman filed the PPO in, nor did his probation find any records in the county he lives in. How would I go about finding out if my marriage is even valid?
