Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

We want to do our own divorce without going to court: How?

I am told there is a legal way for my husband and I to file our own divorce without having to go to court. We have determined how all property, finances, custody, support, etc. will be handled. We bought a do-it-yourself kit, but it's not specific to our state or county. When we contacted the county clerks office, the judge's office, and another attorney, they all confirmed there is a way, but declined any helpful information because they do not "represent" us. Sounds like a "catch 22"! We wanted to do this ourselves to avoid the expense of counsel. If I just knew what "forms" or documents were required, I could look up some previous cases at the courthouse to get the format. Can you help?

It is difficult to get a divorce without going to court if you dont have an attorney to file the proper motions. You can still get divorced without an attorney and just one court appearance. I would advise you to at least bear the expense of a consultation with an attorney to be advised how to proceed.
