if i have filed for divorce and my husband is in another state and he has been gone almost 6 months and already has the papers but has not sent them back whatwill happen if at the end of six months time is up - do i have to get a out of state lawyer?

If you are doing a case where he signs, that signature usually should have been obtained before filing. If he won't do that, you have a contested proceeding. That MAY be possible here in Georgia.
