Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

divorce and foreclosure

In the last 8 months, my husband added my name to the home loan to help build up my credit. Then, in the 4 months ago asked for a divorce. Now, my ex-husband is refusing to pay the house payment and letting it go into foreclosure. Since I have recently moved back to my parents home and still looking for a job, I do not have the money to make the payments myself. What are my options? If he lets the house go into foreclosure, how will that affect my credit/name. Would it be better for me to file for bankruptcy? What do I need to do???

Re: divorce and foreclosure

You've mentioned some of the choices you face, and to eavluate those it would be necessary to see all of your finances and details. Bankruptcy might be an option (a foreclosure would severely impact your credit). You also may need help with the divorce. Feel free to contact me to discuss this.
